BoardPacks is an online board portal that makes a tangible difference, both to the board members, executives and trustees that attend meetings, but also to the administrators that are responsible for organising those meetings. From collating the meeting materials to scheduling the meetings, BoardPacks is efficient, effective and makes life easier for administrators.
With the latter user group very much in mind, next week on 10 and 11 April, we will be attending the Association of University Administrators (AUA) Annual Conference and Exhibition at the University of Manchester. The AUA is the professional association for anyone that works, or aspires to work in higher education administration or management.
Part of the AUA’s remit is to support and guide its members, to help them define and develop their career ambitions. It does this by connecting members with each other, to share learning and encourage best practice, and one of the key ways in which it does this, is at its annual conference.
Each year, administrators from universities and colleges from all over the UK come to listen, discuss and engage, and the theme for 2017 is transformation. Recent years have seen the higher education sector face many challenges and this year’s conference outlines how some of these challenges can be addressed and how the sector must adapt.
An important question asked of attendees will be ‘what skills and knowledge do we need to equip ourselves with in order to help steer our institution and the sector through these interesting times?’ We like to think that BoardPacks is an innovative platform that can play a central role in the operations of any university and will be demonstrating this throughout both days at the conference.
BoardPacks and higher education
BoardPacks is already used by many of the UK’s leading universities, including Queens Belfast, Ulster, Derby, Abertay, Exeter, Leeds and Leeds Trinity. It’s a sector we know, understand and feel strongly that we can help.
In addition to the eShare stand – where lucky visitors can enter a draw for some of our famous Star Wars lego! – there is an interesting programme of speakers and seminars to enjoy. The programme begins with Nicola Dandridge CBE, Chief Executive, Universities UK, who will be talking about the challenges, opportunities and politics in higher education, and is followed by a whole host of speakers over the two days.
The AUA Annual Conference and Exhibition takes place at The University of Manchester, 176 Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9QQ. We will be exhibiting at stand 11.
