Of the many sectors in which eShare is experienced, education is one that we have particularly strong credentials in. We work with a number of the world’s most prominent universities, many of which are listed in the Times Higher Education supplement that outlines the very best higher education establishments.
We also work with many schools and colleges, so are delighted to be showcasing our meeting management tool, MeetingSquared, to the delegates attending the upcoming Internet2 Global Summit in Washington. It starts on 23 April and runs until 26 April, and attracts around 1,000 C-level information technology decision-makers and other high-level influencers from the nation’s top universities, government and scientific research organizations.
It’s an influential conference and an important one for eShare as we continue to grow our presence in the US. The Internet2 community has created a unique network infrastructure dedicated to supporting the research and scholarship missions of its members, where people can more easily and securely pursue the research and education solutions that will make their jobs easier and widen their influence on the lives of those around them.
Universities and research organizations all face many of the same challenges – being more efficient, using technology to make operations more simple and stretching limited budgets as far as possible. That’s why we believe MeetingSquared is such a powerful solution for those in the education sector, as it aims to bring an end to the inefficient preparation, scheduling and management of meetings, which can eat into the valuable time of those in education.
MeetingSquared – revolutionizing the meeting process
MeetingSquared is an app for use by anyone who organizes or attends meetings. It was designed in collaboration with Microsoft Corp., and is accessed via Microsoft Office 365. It comes with a host of features that will make the entire meeting process easier for the 1.2 billion Office users around the world, solving problems at all three stages of a meeting – before, during and after.
The scale of meeting inefficiency was laid bare with research eShare conducted in 2016. The average worker attends 3.7 meetings every week, spending one hour nine minutes preparing for each meeting and one hour 22 minutes attending it. Across a 40 year career, this equates to a total of 17,470 hours – two entire years of someone’s life.
Education workers are time-pressured and cannot afford to spend that many hours merely organizing and attending meetings. That’s why Share’s US country manager, Rob MacMahon, believes that MeetingSquared is a perfect tool for those in education:
“eShare already works with many of world’s leading universities and I am excited about the chance to demonstrate MeetingSquared to the others attending the Internet2 Global Summit. It’s a tool that will save hours every single week, hours that can be put to much better use elsewhere. There’s a reason that Microsoft collaborated with us on MeetingSquared and I am confident that when delegates see it in action they will immediately see the value it can bring.”
